ABOUT CAMP
Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind Camp is situated in Istria, in Premantura near the town of Pula. Facility and land is bought 2000th years, to when it was a function of the Slovenian resort. Croatian Association of the Blind 2003rd year in cooperation with the firm designing APZ in Zagreb (which performs the work) embarked on a reconstruction, and renovation of the Camp for the use of blind persons. Do 01 June 2004. extended object in terms of performance of the new kitchen with additional rooms, the restaurant that supports capacity for 80 people, a coffee bar with summer terrace. The ground area of the camp is a great hall annexed to the maintenance of various facilities and events, reception hall support for a hundred people.
On the ground floor of the building are derived and sanitary facilities for women and men (each separately) and a sanitary facility, which will be adapted for people with disabilities. Complete space on the ground marked the tactile paths guidelines, which are yellow are visible and partially sighted, and the floating glass walls and walls of the paths guidelines.
There are two types of guiding path: ground path is expressed by protrusions that are felt during walking and intense yellow in color, and on the sides of the middle wall are also tapes thirty centimeters wide guidelines that allow blind people navigate independently, and blue that are visible and partially sighted. The camp is located and 26 rooms with bathrooms. At the door of each room numbers are entered on the enlarged black print and in Braille. Camping is one room adapted for people with physical disabilities.
So ground is fully accessible to people in a wheelchair because they are made ramps and lowered flooring. Camping can be used all year round because it has a built-in heating. Surrounding the main building has a very nice promenade with benches and playground.
In late 2007. The Croatian Association of the Blind bought land adjacent to the existing facility. Are currently available in the house three double bedrooms and two bathrooms and kitchen reference. Surrounding the building end of 2009. was decorated in a promenade and a playground. We plan to renovate the entire building with provision of additional facilities.
